 Stephanie Papke:  (Head Coach)

 

The upcoming club season will be Stephanie’s 12th year coaching!  She spent 11  years coaching at Puget Sound, starting in the ’95 – ’96 season.  Steph has coached at the 16s, 17s, and 18s level, along with being a setting instructor, as well as a technical director for PSVBC.  She has widespread experience coaching at the middle school level as well, including Surprise Lake, Columbia Jr High, and most recently at Curtis Jr. High in University Place.  She also has played host to several of her own volleyball camps throughout the Pacific Northwest, and been involved in coaching at several All-American camps for the past 10 years across the nation!
Along with her amazing abilities as a coach, Stephanie brings with her an extensive background and experience as a player.  She played at Thomas Jefferson High School and Auburn High School, graduating in 1993.  From there, she was recruited to Washington State, where she led the Cougs to several successful seasons, including an appearance in the Elite Eight!  She was named an All-American as a setter, and graduated in 1997 with a degree in Exercise Science.


 

 

Carlye Hupp:  (Assistant Coach)

Carlye is joining Lake Tapps in her 12th year as a volleyball coach!  Previously, she coached at Puget Sound from 1996 – 2007, all while earning her teaching degree and principal certificate.  Carlye has coached at the 15s, 16s, 17s, and 18s levels in club volleyball.  Each of her teams has performed well at the regional level, consistently finishing in the top 3.  She has taken two teams to Junior Olympics, finishing as high as the top 10 in the OPEN division in 2007!  Carlye also has an extensive background in middle school and high school volleyball.  She was an assistant coach at Kent-Meridian High School from 1996 – 1999, a head coach at Cedar Heights Middle School from 2001 – 2004, head coach at Maywood Middle School from 2004 – 2008, and an assistant coach at Kentlake High School during the 2000 – 2003 run that resulted in 3 STRAIGHT State Championships for Kentlake.  That Kentlake team produced 6 Division I athletes, including local star Courtney Thompson who led the UW Huskies to their first National  Championship!  As a player, Carlye graduated from Kentridge High School in 1994.  After considering offers to play in small schools back East, she decided to stay closer to home to attend the University of Washington and get into coaching her favorite sport.  She is currently a PE teacher in the Issaquah School District, and is so excited to be joining LTVBC!
